Engaged and participatory methodologies in food studies

On the 11th of June I gave a talk in the plenary sessione “Ricerche militanti e partecipative nella geografia del cibo” [Militant and participatory research in the geography of food] during the conference Geografia e Cibo [Geography and Food], toghether with Chiara Tornaghi (Università di Coventry, Coordinator of Sustainable Food Planning group – Aesop) and Marcos Saquet (Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paranà) and coordinated by Alessia Toldo (Univerity of Turin).

The session was intended to discuss how militant research perspectives revolving around food studies – notably on urban agroecology and urban gardening – catalyse participative and engaged forms of knowledge creation and sharing and contribute to place-changing practices.
