What are the main environmental problems in the Gulf of Anzio? And how do major global challenges, such as climate change, intertwine with daily life and the local environment? What protection measures have been implemented? And how has the relationship between the sea and society changed? The participatory research project “CoSea_Lab. Collaborative Laboratory for the Sea and Socio-Environmental Sustainability in the Gulf of Anzio” attempted to answer these questions. The project, supported by Sapienza University of Rome and carried out by the CO>SEA research group (Sapienza University of Rome – MEMOTEF Department and Raw-News Visual Production Agency), investigated the main environmental and social issues of the Anzio coastal area with the aim of strengthening the bond between the local community and the sea.

On November 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Anzio in Villa Sarsina, the Co>Sea research group from Sapienza University of Rome will meet with the Municipality of Anzio to present the results of the first socio-environmental study on the Anzio sea.
The study was sponsored by the Municipality of Anzio with the aim of assessing the socio-environmental status of the coastal sea in the Gulf for planning future activities.
The key products of the research will be presented during the meeting:

the documentary “CoSea. Critical Visions from the Sea” by Raw-News;
the report “CO>SEA in the Gulf of Anzio. Technical-Scientific Report,” which presents the results of the study and includes an interactive map illustrating data, critical issues, and elements of interest in the Anzio coastal sea;
the participatory map of socio-environmental emergencies in Anzio;
the photographic catalog of the research.

The event will be an opportunity for citizens, researchers, associations, and institutions to engage in dialogue to discuss the challenges and opportunities emerging from the research and to reflect on possible future actions for a healthier, more shared, and more sustainable sea.

Quali sono i principali problemi ambientali del Golfo di Anzio? E come si intrecciano qui le grandi sfide globali, come il cambiamento climatico, con la vita quotidiana e l’ambiente locale? Quali azioni di tutela sono state realizzate? E come si è trasformata la relazione tra mare e società? A queste domande ha provato a rispondere la ricerca partecipativa “CoSea_Lab. Laboratorio Collaborativo per il mare e la sostenibilità socio-ambientale nel Golfo di Anzio”, supportato dall’Università di Roma Sapienza, e realizzato dal gruppo di ricerca CO>SEA (Sapienza Università di Roma – Dip. MEMOTEF e Raw-News Visual Production Agency, che ha indagato le principali criticità ambientali e sociali del territorio costiero di Anzio con l’obiettivo di rafforzare il legame tra la comunità locale e il mare.

Il 22 novembre 2025 dalle 16.00 alle 19.00 presso la Sala Consiliare del Comune di Anzio a Villa Sarsina, il gruppo di ricerca Co>Sea di Sapienza Università di Roma incontra il Comune di Anzio per presentare i risultati della prima ricerca socio-ambientale sul mare di Anzio.

L’indagine è stata patrocinata dal Comune di Anzio con l’obiettivo di avere una ricognizione dello stato socio-ambientale del mare costiero nel Golfo per la pianificazione delle attività future.

Durante l’incontro saranno presentati i prodotti centrali della ricerca:

il report “CO>SEA nel Golfo di Anzio. Report Tecnico-Scientifico”, che restituisce i risultati del lavoro di indagine e che include una mappa interattiva che illustra dati, criticità e elementi di interesse del mare costiero di Anzio;

la mappa partecipativa delle emergenze socio-ambientali ad Anzio;
il catalogo fotografico della ricerca.

L’evento sarà un’occasione di dialogo tra cittadini, ricercatori, associazioni e istituzioni per discutere insieme le sfide e le opportunità emerse dalla ricerca e riflettere su possibili azioni future per un mare più sano, condiviso e sostenibile.
