“Political and Economic Geography” text book now out

The publication of an entirely revised version of the insightful text book “Political Economic Geography” (Chiara Certomà, Sergio Conti, Paolo Giaccaria, Ugo Rossi, Carlo Salone, 2nfd ec.) has been announced by Pearson publisher. This include my chapter proposing a critical desciption of environmental transition, from the roots of western environmental thinking throught its mainstreaming and failure, up to the recent urban political ecology perspective.

The volume cover a wide rande of cogent topics such as, amongst the other, the emerging global cities and macro-regional governance, the competitiveness between national and local territories, and the affirmation of new regionalisms. As illustrated by the book presentation (in italian):

“Sino a non molti anni addietro, la prospettiva da cui si osservavano le vicende dell’economia mondiale veniva ricondotta a un modello di crescita sostenuto da logiche precise.
